Hip Hop Pop runs 16 street dance classes a week at the Harlow Playhouse, in their ground floor studio, equipped with mirrors, a sound system, access to refreshments and a cosy vibe. There's an open-plan registration area where you'll be greeted by one of our experienced and friendly team. The cafe bar upstairs also offers an array of beverages and snacks for parents waiting for children to finish the earlier classes.

Parking is easy at the Harvey Centre Car Park, which is a 30 second walk from the theatre. Public transport buses also run frequently to Harlow Town Centre (where our dance studio at The Harlow Playhouse is located). If you're coming by train, the closest station is Harlow Town (a 4 minute cab ride or 20 minute walk to the Harlow Playhouse Theatre)

You may be wanting to ask us, 'do you teach Hip Hop or Street Dance at Hip Hop Pop?' Well the answer is; hip hop is a style of street dance. There are many styles of street dance including hip hop, house, breaking, locking and krump to name but a few. So at Hip Hop Pop Harlow Dance School, we teach many styles of street dance under the street dance umbrella, including Hip Hop. In our classes you will learn: Foundations - dance grooves, moves and steps that create a dictionary of the absolute 'must-knows'. Variations - how to explore your foundations and create different versions and ways to express these moves giving you an incredible vocabulary of street dance skills. Combinations (aka routines / choreography) - using inspiration from your foundation and variation skills - create and / or learn choreography (routines) to really get your teeth into.
We don't just teach 'routines' at Hip Hop Pop, routines are fun for the short time during class that you're learning them, but what then? There's not much to take away to help you progress - That's why we do much more than just 'teach a routine'! Of course you will learn routines in classes, but we focus on giving you the knowledge and skill to take each and every movement within those routines and explore them, understand them and progress with them AFTER the class, AFTER you've learnt the 'routine'. All classes are customised to deliver these goals at varying rates and by different methods tailored to your age and ability.

You'll learn performance skills, how to make your performance 'pop' and wow your audience, how to express using dance, how to polish your performance, how to communicate with your audience, how to find your x-factor, we teach it all at our street dance classes in Harlow.

Every year our dance school in Harlow offers students aged 6+ the opportunity to perform on stage in our showcases that are open to dancers of all levels. Those aged 3 to 5 get to perform too, just in the studio to a smaller the audience, but what a great introductory taste for performing they will get! We also produce original pieces of street dance theatre bi-annually, which all students can audition for. Members can even become part of our performance crews that perform at community events in Harlow and surrounding towns.
Shows are just the start, we continually offer workshop opportunities with other industry experts and dance celebs, we continually offer students the chance to get involved with fun projects. There's always something for students to get their teeth into on top of their weekly class.
