Hip Hop Pop's bi-annual 'big show' is here!
An original piece of street dance theatre by our team here at Hip Hop Pop, a show of a much larger scale than our 'Class Showcases', separate from classes. Cast places are open to members and non-members alike aged 8 (by 19th October) to adults.
We're looking for passionate dancers, with street dance skills ready to throw themselves into a brand new show.
The Show:
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 2024
At Harlow Playhouse Theatre
Production Week:
Wednesday 16th to Friday 18th October 2024 (evenings after 4pm)
At Harlow Playhouse Theatre
What Parts Are Available:
Characters = Plot Protagonists - Focal in the majority of the show
Principal Dancers = In 8+ routines as large group and/or smaller groups
Chorus Dancers = In 4+ routines + finale
Support Chorus = In 2 routines + finale
Rehearsals:
15th April to 14th October 2024
Principal Adults Characters & Dancers:
Some Monday evenings, some Friday evenings and some Sunday daytimes (1 to 2 rehearsals per week)
Principal Teenager Characters & Dancers:
Some Friday evenings and some Sunday daytimes (1 to 2 rehearsals per week)
Chorus (all ages):
Some Sunday daytime, odd Friday evenings
Support Chorus (all ages):
Some Sunday daytime, odd Friday evenings
A full timetable will be shared with successful applicants/auditionees. However, to take part you will need to be available on the days/times mentioned above every week for now.

20 x Age 8-12 Chorus Dancers
10 x Age 8 to 12 Support Chorus Dancers
Are you a student age 8+ in one of these classes: age 6-9, 10-11 or 12-17?
If you are aged 8+ (by 19th October 2024), for a place in the 'big show', you must audition for a place at the OPEN AUDITION on Saturday 23rd March at the Harlow Playhouse Age 8-12s: 12pm-1pm & Age 13-17: 1pm-2pm, and you must PRE-REGISTER your attendance here
Are you a student who attends our adult intermediate class?
For a place in the 'big show', you must REGISTER YOUR INTEREST via the form below, you do not need to attend the audition, places will be granted based on our knowledge of your skill set, please note spaces are limited and groupings of those cast is at our discretion.
Are you a student who attends one of our advanced classes?
For a place in the 'big show', you must REGISTER YOUR INTEREST via the form below, you do not need to attend the audition, as an advanced student your place will be granted, however, what cast group you are allocated will be at our discretion, principal spaces are limited.
Are you over 18 and have been an advanced class attendee in the past or a past adult crew member?
For a place in the 'big show', you must REGISTER YOUR INTEREST via the form below, you do not need to attend the audition, as an ex-advanced student or crew member your place will be granted, however, what cast group you are allocated will be at our discretion, principal spaces are limited.
Are you aged 8 to 12 and are a non-member?
If you are aged 8+ (by 19th October 2024), for a place in the 'big show', you must audition for a place at the OPEN AUDITION on Saturday 23rd March at the Harlow Playhouse 12pm-1pm and you must PRE-REGISTER your attendance here
Are you aged 13 to 17 and are a non-member?
For a place in the 'big show', you must audition for a place at the OPEN AUDITION on Saturday 23rd March at the Harlow Playhouse 1pm-2pm and you must PRE-REGISTER your attendance here
Are you aged 18+ and are a non-member?
For a place in the 'big show', you must send in a video (minimum 1 minute) of you showcasing your street dance skills, you must also REGISTER YOUR INTEREST via the form below
Other Things To Note:
Cast will be notified of outcome of auditions or spaces allocated by 5th April, at which point you will have 1 week to confirm your place. As per any production with any company, there will be a show-fee which covers the cost of rehearsals, your finale t-shirt, photos of you in the show and access to a video of the production, the deposit of which will need to be paid at the time of confirming your space.
These shows are the pinnacle of what we produce as a dance school and we wish to only cast dancers who are committed to attending all of their rehearsals and giving us all the energy, positivity and dedication they have, there will be lots of learning, drilling and practising in person and at home involved in participating but boy will it be worth it!
