What an incredible Bank Holiday Monday we had in the sunshine with Hip Hop Poppers Laura, Drew, and Boo in Harlow! 🌞✨

We set ourselves a big challenge: create, clean, set, and film seven short dance videos in just one day – and we smashed it!

From the Playhouse to the Park 🌳🎥

We started our day at our home, Harlow Playhouse, where we worked on the choreography for all seven pieces. In just three hours, the team learned, perfected, and polished routines in a variety of styles – from hip hop, house, and locking to commercial with street-style influences. That’s no easy feat, but this team were absolute sponges when it comes to picking up choreo!

Then it was time to take the sunshine (and the moves) outdoors. We filmed across some of Harlow’s most iconic spots, including:

The Playhouse front entrance
Colourful yard shutters
The walkway towards the theatre

From there, we headed into Harlow Town Park where we found some truly gorgeous backdrops:

A bridge with a perfect dance-floor feel
A field walkway full of open-air vibes
A stunning tunnel of trees
And for some moodier energy – the red garages and a dramatic underpass

While Jen (Hip Hop Pop’s director, and choreographer, and videographer for these videos) worked closely with the team to bring each video to life, Victoria (Co-Director) captured all the behind-the-scenes magic. She shot how we created the pieces and how the filming happened, so we can share split-screen BTS vs final edit videos with you.

The Music & Styles 🎶

The seven new pieces include tracks like You’re Fabulous, Da Rockwilder, Looking For You, and more. Each one brought its own vibe – from funky grooves to fierce street style – and the dancers brought it all to life with style, power, and precision.

66 Videos and Counting 🚀

These latest seven videos aren’t just a one-off – they’re part of an epic year of video-making! With these additions, we’ve now created a whopping 66 short dance pieces featuring around 30 Hip Hop Pop members. That’s a massive achievement for the team, and we’re only just getting started. Why are we doing this... because we LOVE TO DANCE. This is not a class, a business venture or a 'service', this is a completely fee-less project simply about the joy of dancing, the joy of creating, and spending time with our dance community, and what a bonus we get videos to keep of our efforts :)
