The 2-Day Street Dance Event Is Back At Hip Hop Pop!

The long-awaited holiday events are back, seeing more special guest tutors than ever before ready to share their knowledge and skills with Hip Hop Pop students and non-members alike!

Our guest tutors credits include TV performances, stadium concert performances and west end musical performances and much more. Some hold the UK’s top teaching qualifications and/or teach regular classes at London’s most prestigious dance studios.

When and where is the event, and who is it for?

Dates/times:

Both days: Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th August 2021

(10am – 2:30pm each day)

Event venue:

Passmores Academy, Harlow, Essex

Who for:

- Age 6 - 10 - ALL LEVELS

- Age 11 - 17 - ALL LEVELS

- Adults - Intermediate to Advanced Level

What's included in the 2-day event?

• 2 days of street dance fun with awesome guest teachers, all students have lessons with 6 of the pictured tutors above!

• Take home an A3 poster signed by all the guest tutors.

• 1-to-1 photos taken with each special guest tutor which will be downloadable after the event.

• Receive a link to a video of the end of each workshop featuring the students performing the routines with each tutor.

• Take home some special edition summer event Hip Hop Pop merch.

• Make memories from these two days that you will never forget!

All the above is just £59 for Hip Hop Pop members or £55 each for family rate Hip Hop Pop members. £69 for non-Hip Hop Pop members. No need to pay in full now, simply pop a £20 deposit down and then pay the balance before 7th August.

What about COVID-19 safety?

We've got you covered! We will be keeping a close eye on Government guidance as the date get's closer. and will follow strictly There will be a one-way system, students will stay in 1 studio or hall throughout to avoid mixing groups, the usual end of day performance has been swapped with individual workshop video performances instead, all participants will receive private links to videos after the event. Spaces are limited to allow us to socially distance participants should that be the guidance at the time of the event.

Summer Event Tutors

Nathaniel SB Jones

Nathaniel SB Jones Is a professional hip hop / commercial dancer and choreographer. He is one of the leading industry dancers to have extensively Worked With Artists Such as Beyonce & Jay Z, Jason Derulo, Rita Ora, Kelly Rowland, Whitney Houston, Stormzy, Anne Marie and Rihanna to name a few

He also has appeared on TV shows such ITV Xfactor, BBC 1 So You Think You Can Dance, Strictly Come Dancing and The Greatest Dancer. He is also a part Of Hip Hop Dance Company BoyBlue as choreographer/rehearsal director.

Yaw Darko

Yaw's been dancing and teaching since he was 19. Has competed in competitions such us the UK Hip Hop Championships and various UDO championships. In 2006 he placed 1st the Southern UDO Championships and 2nd in the worlds.

He has since gone on to perform in shows like Move it, Dancers Delight, Breakin Convention, World of Dance and breakout. Having a hand in choreographing in each of the performances and often being the main choreographer. He has taught in various countries such as Spain, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Scotland and Wales.

Yaw, has also a wide range of judging experience in various competitions up and down the country.

In 2019 he was nominated as male choreographer of the year by the UK dance awards.

He is currently the resident locking teacher at Base Dance Studios in London and runs his own Locking company Funk of the Future.

Aaron Littman

After graduating from DNA studios Aaron went to work in Disneyland Paris dancing on the parades and stage shows for three years.

After this, he went on to perform in many music videos both in front and behind the camera, he was also lucky enough to tour the baltic sea on multiple cruise ship contracts.

Ebony Clarke

Former Hip Hop Pop student now extremely successful professional dancer Ebony Clarke returns to share her skills with summer students.

Alisha Margetson

Alisha's passion for dance started at the Age of 7. She trained at the North London Dance Studios graduating in 2014. She has since worked across the UK and internationally.

Her credits include work for Stormzy, Burna Boy, BRIT Awards 2020, Wizkid concert at O2 Arena & BBC1 Xtra, Not3s, Maleek Berry, Dbanj, Jidenna, Unknown T, Boy George, Mr Eazi, Riton & Kah-Lo, Eugy Official, London Fashion Week, Afro Nation Festival, One Africa festival (Wembley Arena), Reading and Leeds Festival, Scholl, Google, Spotify, BBC, ITV, BT Sports, Netflix and the National History Museum.

Alisha is a resident tutor at Hip Hop Pop, her students LOVE her classes and we're excited to have her as part of the teaching team this summer too.

Kayleigh Dettmer

Former student and now very successful professional dancer and choreographer Kayleigh Dettmer returns to our summer events for the 3rd time.

Since graduating, Kayleigh has flown around many parts of the world choreographing and dancing in all areas stage, television, corporate and more. Some television credits include BBC, SkyOne, Disney Channel and ITV. Also dancing with artists such as Alexandra Burke, Dappy and international stars too.

Throughout her career the love for teaching and giving out her creations has resulted in judging at competitions around the U.K. Teaching at performance universities and running workshops at a number of drama schools. Her mixture of commercial with a hip-hop flare matches the good vibes and positive energy that is always provided. She’s fun, she’s full-out and she’s ready to dance with you all!

Jenny Bater-Sinclair

Street dance fanatic, choreographer, tutor and performer

As director of award-winning dance company Hip Hop Pop (est 2002), Jenny has shared her passion and knowledge of street dance with over 20’000 dancers of all ages to date and continues to enjoy helping others grow in skills and confidence.
