At times like these, it's easy to get washed away with the news, and it's hard to know who and what charities / organisations to support right now, right? If we could, we'd help them all! Read on to find out how Hip Hop Pop youngsters have helped shine a light on one...

There are so many incredible charities out there to choose from, but we have selected to shine a little light on: Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
What prompted this? We've seen first hand, some of our students, over the 18 years we've been running, helped by GOSH. We also heard just 2 days ago, one of our students has been admitted to GOSH, and as you can imagine this is a very difficult time to have a child in hospital, we want to help this amazing hospital get the funding it needs to continue it's great work.
The GOSH COVID-19 Appeal is currently seeking donations, here's an excerpt from their website:
"Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) has launched an appeal to help fund both the hospital’s most urgent needs now and support its vital work once this crisis is over.
As Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) plays a role in the national response by treating more children from hospitals across London, resources will become increasingly stretched.
The hospital needs the support of the charity now more than ever, so it can continue to deliver the best, life-changing care for seriously ill children."
So where and how does Hip Hop Pop come in? After the success of our Quarantine Speech Video, which was shared more than 500 times and watched over 25'000 times, it was clear how to spread the word of GOSH and the COVID 19 Appeal - another video! But this time with a different message attached to it, to not only encourage donations to GOSH but send a joyful message.
What is that message?
"We may be physically apart BUT we are all there for each other"
Lockdown can feel like a lonely time, and it's more important than ever that we look after our mental wellbeing as well as our physical. (You can read more on how Hip Hop Pop looks after mental wellbeing here). Our video - choreographed by company Director Jenny Bater-Sinclair, featuring 50+ youngsters from our dance school aged 3 to 16 of all levels, sends a message reminding you, that there's someone there for you, in a heart warming 60 seconds.
We sent a video challenge out to youngsters at the school, offering them to play their part in this important message, getting them all to send in 2 videos, 1 of them waving at others from the front door and another of them performing a few basic steps
Jen collected all these video files and got to work on editing them together to the awesome remix by Jackson Beats of the 'FRIENDS' theme tune 'I'll be there for you'
