Pre-Covid-Lockdown's, Hip Hop Pop were approached by the team at the Harlow Playhouse and KD theatre productions, about being involved in Cinderella, due to be staged in 2020, and of course, it was a big excited YES from us! The Harlow Playhouse, for so many years, produces one of the very best Pantomimes in the country, what an honour it is to be asked.
Sadly, the idea was put on hold whilst we all navigated our way through a pandemic and many restrictions. Still, thankfully the Harlow Playhouse, KD Theatre and Hip Hop Pop sprang back into full swing post-lockdowns and finally, this Christmas, are able to bring Cinderella to the stage featuring Hip Hop Pop, yay!

Hip Hop Pop will be bringing their unique flair of ‘funkiness’ and ‘coolness’ to the Playhouse stage. The music they will be performing to has been specially created and mixed by Glen Murphy A.K.A. ‘Pulse’ from Britain’s Got Talent Champion of Champions; ‘Twist and Pulse’. The mix, features remixes of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bad Habits’, ‘Savage’ by Megan Thee Stallion and Missy Elliot’s ‘Lose Control’ to name but a few.
The featured piece is choreographed by Hip Hop Pop’s director, Jenny Bater-Sinclair, Jenny said:
“We were thrilled to be asked to feature in this year’s pantomime, the Harlow Playhouse is our home-from-home and it means so much to be involved in such a professionally produced production and surrounded by such a talented cast. I won’t give anything away, but I will just say it’s certainly no ‘normal routine’ we’re performing in the panto… you’ll have to come see it to find out why it’s extra special!”
Jen and a few of the team recorded a 10-minute tutorial video, teaching aspiring dancers a small section from their pantomime routine! The Harlow Playhouse hope to share this video with some of the pantomime audiences, keep your eyes peeled for more info to come! In the meantime...
Here's a short sneak-peak preview of the tutorial video!
